Laurence H. Dorcy Hawaiian Foundation Grant

The Laurence H. Dorcy Hawaiian Foundation is looking to support and partner with organizations in Hawaii focused on helping families and individuals with critical needs in these difficult times by:

  • increasing availability and access to food for vulnerable populations, with a preference for those programs addressing systemic issues and community based food systems
  • improving access to health care for vulnerable populations, with a preference for those programs incorporating the health aspects of nutritious food
  • supporting vulnerable youth and families through holistic wrap around services

General Operating Support: Grants are within the discretion of the Board of Directors, but generally are made in the range of $25,000-75,000 for general operating support. The Dorcy Foundation does not make multi-year commitments. These grants are intended for a twelve-month period and applicants should be aware part of our evaluation will reflect on the requested amount in relation to the organization’s budget so as not to create an over-reliance on support from Dorcy.

Successful applicants will also be asked to submit a brief report prior to seeking any additional support from the Foundation or no later than the end of the year in which the grant was awarded.

First time applicants are encouraged to contact Tammy Davis Cownie at tammy@dorcyfdn.org to introduce themselves and their organization and to learn more about Dorcy Foundation priorities and clarification of the application process.

Application Deadline

Grant applications must be received by January 31st of each year. Applications received after the deadline may not be considered. Applications may be submitted by e-mail to tammy@dorcyfdn.org or via hard copy via U.S. mail to 81 East 7th Street, Suite 125, St. Paul, MN 55101.
